Realignment: ESIM Chemicals is focusing on the growing custom manufacturing speciality chemical products

On October 19, 2021 ESIM Chemicals has completed the sale of its IM business unit to the US company Vertellus. From now on, it will focus on the development and production ofspeciality chemical products. “We are focusing the company on a growth market by specialising in the custom-manufacturing business. We aim to further expand our leading international market position in the years to come with this strategic realignment,” says Dr. Frank Wegener, CEO of ESIM Chemicals, about these ambitious plans. The company, based in the Linz Chemical Park, is already one of the top three suppliers of highly complex molecules for a wide range of applications worldwide. Internationally successful: a wide range of new projects ESIM Chemicals is a partner to customers from the agrochemical sector, the industrial sector and manufacturers of food, feed and pharmaceuticals, to name but a few. The chemical company, founded more than 80 years ago, is well-known for its comprehensive chemical expertise and process engineering capabilities, as well as its years of experience. This means that ESIM is able to carry out complex syntheses for demanding customers inlarge-scale plants while keeping a keen focus on raw material- and energy-efficiency.

There is high international demand for synthesis services for speciality chemicals. The custom-manufacturing business is currently experiencing a significant upturn worldwide. “Companies are looking for partners for the development of new complex molecules and their transfer into production plants. This requires specialist expertise coupled with innovative strength and decades of experience,” says Wegener, summarizing ESIM’s strengths and looking confidently to the years ahead. “In the last few months, international customers have commissioned several new projects from us.
