Wolfgang Hillisch

Chief Executive Officer

Wolfgang Hillisch was appointed CEO of ESIM Chemicals in September 2015. He holds a Master Degree in Chemical Engineering & Economics from the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria.

Wolfgang has enjoyed a long career in the industry starting as chemical engineer and product manager with Siemens VAI where he spent several years abroad working on international projects.

In 2001 he joined DSM as the product manager for the custom manufacturing cluster in Linz. Wolfgang was promoted to M&S Director in 2006 leading the Exclusive Synthesis (ES) business (with main focus on Crop Protection custom manufacturing) in Linz. In 2013 he was made Business Director ESIM and Managing Director of the DSM Linz activities. In this role he integrated the business clusters of ES (custom manufacturing) and IM (Maleic Anhydride and Specialties) into the new business unit ESIM. In the course of the merger of DPP with Patheon the ESIM activities were transferred under his leadership to DPx and then subsequently carved out and divested to Ardian.

Wolfgang lives with his family in Linz, Austria.

Harald Gruber

Chief Operating Officer

Harald Gruber was appointed COO during the carve out of ESIM Chemicals from DPx Fine Chemicals in September 2015.

He joined ESIM Chemicals after a successful career of more than 37 years in different chemical companies. During this time he gained a broad range of expertise covering the disciplines of Manufacturing, R&D including Piloting and Technical Service in the ISO as well as in the pharmaceutical environment.

Formerly, Harald held several management positions at DSM and DPx Fine Chemicals Austria including Production Manager, Manufacturing Director and Head of Operational Excellence.

Harald Gruber started as apprentice finished two years master school and successfully completed an education as a Chemical Technical Engineer.

He lives in Linz, Austria; is married and has three children.

 

Bernhard Kienberger

Chief Financial Officer

Bernhard KienbergerBernhard Kienberger joined the management team in January 2016 and was appointed CFO of ESIM Chemicals. Bernhard holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria. He has a background of more than 20 years experience in the finance sector with a focus on taxes, accounting and controlling. In addition, he holds important roles in restructuring projects, SAP-projects and M&A-activities.

Bernhard lives with his family in Linz, Austria.
